Anyway circling back to the 1995 Mortal Kombat film, which I loved as a teen.
It delivers on its promise and for that it is good.
Also I fucking LOVE how much fun Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa has the entire time. Just profound levels of buy in to his part and it’s a delight.
Also also it’s me, the woman who will always think Paul Thomas Anderson & Paul W.S. Anderson are the same person.
We all know whose films I think are more entertaining.
B-grade films allow such great opportunity to lean into roles and chew scenery but MOSTLY for the villains. I’m glad Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa took the opportunity and ran with it
Tho I think Linden Ashby also did quite a bit. THO he’s playing a guy who’s a swaggering prick even if he is a good guy. But he does it well.
